Wow! The 2020/2021 school year has arrived! Teaching has never been more challenging and attention to pedagogy more important. Planning for the new year is filled with many unknowns – Am I going to see my students in person? Will I see some students while others work remotely? Are we going to shift to distance learning only?
The transition to the NGSS changed the role of the teacher from “teaching students” to “facilitating student learning”. With the demands of the pandemic this transition is more important than ever. Our target is increasing student learning and we need to use every tool we can to facilitate students in this process no matter where they are.
This year the Practical Science Teachers plan to focus on helping teachers with tools to support student learning in 3 Dimensions and Scientific Literacy. Our blog describes practical suggestions for implementing teaching strategies and our store provides resources to support teachers as they facilitate student learning.
